An early sweet pepper variety of the “mirasol” type, distinguished by its unusual upward-growing fruits and stable yield. Fruits grow facing upward, which makes harvesting easier and gives the plant a decorative appearance. The ripening period is 90–100 days to technical maturity and 115–120 days to full maturity.
Fruits are medium to large, weighing 150–250 g, with an elongated conical shape. At technical maturity they are green, turning bright red when fully ripe. Wall thickness is 5–8 mm, with juicy, sweet flesh and no bitterness.
Plants are compact, 0.4–0.6 m tall, with reliable fruit set even under stressful conditions. Sunspire is resistant to Verticillium wilt. Yield reaches 50–70 t/ha. This variety is ideal for canning, processing, cooking, and fresh consumption.
